Abstract

This study examined the classroom management strategies and use of instructional techniques utilized by two eighth grade English teachers. A qualitative approach was used, with teacher interviews and observations forming the basis of the study. It was found that both teachers demonstrated high levels of classroom management, with 72% and 70% of strategies being utilized by T1 and T2 respectively. Strategies such as seating arrangements, well-explained material, and establishing positive relationships with students were applied throughout the course of instruction, from start to finish. Overall, this study has contributed to the existing body of knowledge surrounding effective classroom management for eighth grade students.
